What we do
Milling
Milling operations are used to perform on site machining jobs on turbine pedestals, large electrical motors, and gearboxes, press tops, or machinery resting surfaces.
We own a large fleet of manual and CNC 3 axis milling machines, in many different sizes to brilliantly perform the required operation in almost every available working space.
Line boring
Line boring is used to make pin, bearing, and bush housings. Boring is performed on many different machines for earth handling, industrial and civil structures, engine blocks, industrial machinery toggles, etc.
With the right accessories this machines can also perform overlay welding by means of an automatically operated torch whose circular and axial movements deposit and even layer of weld material. It is also possible to weld inside little diameters otherwise impossible to reach.
Drilling and tapping
Powerful hydraulically or electrically operated drilling and tapping machines bore holes – up to large diameters – in steel and alloyed steel by means of (tip) drill bits. Pre-bored holes are not necessary and tapping is immediate. Calibrated bores and threading are made by means of magnetic base drills, auxiliary supports, and specific tools.
We can perform also holes and threaded holes with manual or CNC 3 axis milling machines.
Flange-facing and circular milling
Flange facing and circular milling Circular milling is used for facing, surface finishing or grooving operations.
Lathes
Lathes are used for turning operations external diameter of pins or shaft.
- Big motors and Alternators
- Shafts of grinders or mills
Metal cutting solutions
This process is used to cut big metal structures, pins or tanks using saw disks or diamond wire
We can perform also underwater cutting, and segmentation of “hot components” (Nuclear site).
Welding
Different welding processes like TIG, MIG/MAG, Plasma, or metal manual arc can be performed for many applications.
For example:
Internal and external overlay welding (ex. Buchings)
Metal structural work
Hardfacing
Repairs
Press-top coating technology is also performed.
Keying
Liquid nitrogen keying of metal pieces.
Keying is a technique widely exploited in the metalworking industry of mating two pieces of material by partially or totally inserting a “male” element –mainly cylindrical– into a “female” one having identical shape but slightly smaller dimensions. This dimensional difference –called tightening or clearance– is calculated by the manufacturer depending on the desired stress or mechanical resistance.
We have all the knowledge and the equipment to perform this jobs.
Measurements
We carry out a wide range of mechanical measurements on site.
- Alignments performed by a laser system
- Parallelism and die bar retraction test by strain gauge
- Non-destructive material testing by ultrasonic measurements
- Measuring of dimensions with FARO gauge arm (3D CAD)
- Thermography with thermo camera
- Hardness test by Mitutoyo instruments
On-site machine equipment
On-site operations often require special tools or even special machines.
We have a large portfolio of engineered and approved machines by us.
We also design and build machinery for specific on site processes requested by the customer.
